Screening & Prevention

At Adult Pediatric Urology & Urogynecology, PC, we truly believe that prevention is the key to good health. That means it is important to conduct regular self-exams when possible and to have regular check-ups as well.

Prostate Health Education & Screening

Prostate problems become more common as we age. These problems, if caught early, can be treated and cured. The American Cancer Society and the American Urological Association recommend being screened for prostate cancer every year starting at age 50. If you have risk factors, this screening should start earlier. A prostate cancer screening involves a physical exam, digital rectal exam, and blood tests.

If you are a man who is seeing one of our urologists for prostate problems, please print and complete the survey below to discuss at your next appointment.

Testicular Cancer Education & Screening

Testicular cancer most often affects men between the ages of 15 and 30. A simple monthly testicular self-exam can help identify symptoms of trouble before it gets serious. Testicular cancer is almost 100 percent curable if caught early. In addition to self-exams, regular check-ups with a physician are recommended.
